Ada Bobonis – Puerto Rico

Ada Bobonis is a native of Rio Piedras and currently lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. She is a recipient of numerous grants and awards including, a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship, New York (2005), El Serrucho – Emergency Grant, Beta-Local, Puerto Rico (2020)(2017) , the Emergency Grant, Joan Mitchell Foundation, New York (2018). She has participated in the Emergency Residency Initiative for artists impacted by hurricane Maria, MASS MoCA Studios , Massachussets (2018), the Sharpe Walentas Studio Program, New York (2010-2011) and in the artist-in-residence program of the Santa Fe Art Institute, New Mexico (2006). Her most recent projects are “Cama de Mar”, KM.02, Santurce, Puerto Rico (2018) , “Residual”, La Casa del Sargento – Beta-Local, Puerto Rico (2017), Ñew York, OAS -Art Museum of the Americas, Washington, DC. (2012) and Stages, Mountains, Water, Queens Museum, NY (2012).
