Bianca Peake is a fine artist from Trinidad utilising primary painting but also digital and performative means as her medium. Through the process of interrogating the figure she aims to explore performance of the self often through the lens of the presentation of the “female”. Bianca attempts to reconcile the irreconcilable through not only the means of cerebral self reflection but also the active physicality of contesting with a blank canvas which demands deeper examination of the limitations of the painter. A BA graduate of Camberwell College of Arts in London, UK Bianca has participated in many group shows in London such as P3 in Copeland Gallery (2019) as well as the art fair Art Ft. Lauderdale (2019) in FL, USA. At home in Port of Spain Bianca has shown in group shows Nudes (2020) and A Shot to the Ego (2020) in addition to her solo shows ‘Drawings from the Artist’s Studio’ at Softbox Gallery (2020) and ‘Signs of the Times’ (2018).
