Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic 1968. Pascal Meccariello is a multidisciplinary artist involved in diverse arts media, which include: installation, drawing, ceramics, video art, photography and performance. His background includes theater in the fields of acting and stage design. Has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in the Dominican Republic and abroad, including; Media Festival, Hardcore Contemporary Art Space, Miami, El Juego de la Diferencia, Museo de Caguas, Puerto Rico, Dominicanazo!,Samson Projects, Boston, II Bienal Interamericana de Videoarte, Centro Cultural BID, Washington, Island Nations, RISD Museum, Rodhe Island, Bienal Iberoamericana de Lima, Perú, Big River 2 artists workshop, Caribbean Contemporary Arts CCA7, Trinidad, Eventa 5 Uppsala International Biennial, Sweden, Caribe Insular, MEIAC, Badajoz, Spain and and the most recent 55th Venice Biennial with Quintapata artists collective. He has received multiple awards and honors, among which include, Honorary Associate in Arts Degree, Naugatuck Valley Community College, Connecticut, Fulbright Scholar in Residence, U.S.A. Grand Prize XV National Biennial of Visual Arts, Santo Domingo, Grand Prize, E.Leon Jimenes Art Contest, Santiago, Dominican Rep. First Prize, V Salon Nacional de Dibujo de Santo Domingo, Artist in Residence, Woodstock School of Art, N.Y. and UNESCO-Aschberg Bursary for Artists. His work is part of major collections both nationally and internationally.
