Dr. Debra Providence was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and is an educator, writer, and researcher. Her research interests include Caribbean and African American women writers, speculative fiction, feminism, and graphic novels. She currently teaches Creative Writing: Poetry, West Indian Literature, and Contemporary Science Fiction at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies.
